Some Rules for Video Poker

Video Poker is much like five-card draw only in the case of Video Poker you have no opponent. So what's the purpose of the game? Your goal is to obtain the highest hand possible. Remember the higher the hand, the better the pay. Here's how it's played so you can give it a shot the next time you happen to see a Video Poker game.

First, place your bet. All machines vary in the amount of coins they max at but it is up to you to decide. Betting max bets is always the best bet if you want to win big.

Then, press the “draw/deal” button and observe your initial 5 cards. Once you've decided what you want to keep and what you want to return press the “hold/cancel” button under each of the cards you wish to keep. If you happen to press “hold/cancel” on a card you wanted to switch out, just make sure you press the “hold/cancel” button on the card again before pressing the “draw/deal” button.

Finally, after you are finished deciding which cards you would like to keep, press the “draw/deal” button again to receive your replacement cards. If you happen to have a winning hand, the machine itself will know and pay you off accordingly. If you have nothing well then it's too bad but that bet is lost. Remember that pay offs vary from one machine to the next and some are very generous but you must search for the best odds.
